Financial Benefits Of Canned Goods & Stored Food
February 25, 2020
Part of being financially independent is being able to support yourself during setbacks or emergency situations. Just like it’s a good idea to have cash on hand for a rainy day it’s also good to have food as well. Earthquakes and floods exist. Emergencies happen so it’s a good idea to be prepared. At the moment a lot of people are scared because of the Corona virus. Well, I’m here to tell you don’t be scared. Be prepared.
Homemade canned goods keep their quality for at least a year. It takes even longer for them to expire but the taste will be lacking. Store bought canned goods last anywhere from two to five years. What does this have to do with business and finances you say? Stored food saves money because of inflation. Over time inflation raises the price of everything. Because of this if a person buys food today and eats it five years from now they avoided five years of inflation on said food.
Other types of food that are long lasting are wheat, rice, nuts, and beans. Of course the absolute best thing to do is to grow your own food. I’ll save that topic for later.
