“More Companies Turning To The 4-Day Work Week To Entice New Employees, Report Finds”

“With unemployment at historic lows, many companies around the country are attracting employees with all kinds of perks.

One that’s gaining popularity: the four-day work week.

A report from the Society for Human Resource Management reveals 27 percent of companies nationwide are offering employees the option to work four 10-hour days, instead of the traditional five eight-hour days….”

Actually it’s the same amount of hours. In reality this is a cost cutting method that benefits businesses. I’ve had jobs in the past that converted to 4 days with 10 hour work shifts. They were honest and told everyone it actually saves the company money. They think the same amount of work is completed quicker and it’s one day the company saves on utilities. In reality humans are not machines. Longer work hours can have a negative impact on the body.

I’ll be the first to tell you I preferred 8 hour shifts to 10 hour shifts. It’s much better in my opinion especially if someone happens to work a stressful job.
