“Working Americans Turn to Food Banks as Fed Inflation Battle Drags On”
January 27, 2025
“…The Flagstaff Family Food Center in Arizona broke records in 2022 serving nearly 28,000 meals per month on average… On the other side of the country, Capital Area Food Bank distributed 64 million meals last fiscal year in Washington and the neighboring areas — five million more than the prior year…
…Faced with a global pandemic and the risk of a deeply damaged economy, the US government passed roughly $5 trillion in stimulus and relief measures between March 2020 and March 2021. Among other things, the aid kept workers on payrolls and helped small businesses stay afloat…”
Its not the pandemic that damaged the economy. It was the Government shutdown. Shutting down on demand products and services caused a supply chain issue. “2 weeks to stop the spread” turned into 2 years. That’s crazy. This combined with money printing (stimulus checks) is the main root of the current inflationary problem.
Moral of the story — To paraphrase a famous book. If you don’t work you don’t eat. [From The Holy Bible] You have to be a special kind of stupid, or evil, to shut down businesses, stop working, and expect to survive. It destroyed the economy and would have eventually destroyed us all if continued.
Now we have to deal with stagflation because interest rates were not raised high enough to route inflation. There is no easy way out.
