“President Trump announced a 10% “global tariff” just hours after the Supreme Court struck down his blanket tariffs in February.
But that stopgap maneuver under Section 122 of the Trade Act of 1974 came with the authority to levy duties for 150 days. That clock is set to run out.
Absent a move by Congress to extend the tariffs — which is highly unlikely — the authority will run out this Friday, July 24. The Trump administration appears ready to replace them with more permanent levies, which could be announced in the coming days…”
